Buy a house in Mexico with bitcoin

How it works:

  1. The buyer pays with crypto.
  2. Brikens deposits the seller at their bank in their preferred currency.
  3. Both parties close at a Mexican notary and sign the deed (escritura).

Yes: you can buy a house in Mexico by contributing bitcoin, even if the seller isn't looking for crypto. Brikens structures the deal so you send bitcoin and the seller receives a bank deposit in their local currency. The deed is signed before a Mexican notary like an ordinary sale: bitcoin is not the currency of the deed.

Brikens is the service to buy property with crypto. Each case is evaluated on its own: whether it fits, and on what terms, depends on the property and the parties involved.

What changes because the asset is bitcoin

Bitcoin’s price moves. Conversion is not improvised at the moment you transfer: it is written into a quote with a validity window. If the quote expires, or the amount arrives outside that window, confirm again before going on. Do not treat “no volatility” as a general rule. What counts is what your quote says.

The network matters too. Instructions must name the network and the address. A transfer on another network, or to an address other than the one confirmed on the official channel, is not the payment for the deal.

Source of funds is still part of the case. If there is no verifiable history of the bitcoin, the deal does not move forward. More context is in the FAQ.

What does not change

The outcome for the seller is still a bank deposit, not bitcoin. How to sell without receiving crypto is already at Sell and in the seller guide. This page does not repeat that path.

Transfer of the property follows the notary’s formalities. A blockchain receipt shows a bitcoin movement; it does not replace the deed.

Before you send bitcoin

Ask, in writing, for: accepted asset and network, address, quote validity, the currency the seller will receive, costs that apply, and what happens if the transfer arrives late, short, or on the wrong network. Transfer only after you verify those instructions on the official channel.

If your case uses a stablecoin rather than bitcoin, the separate piece is buy a house with USDT. How settlement reaches the bank is in from crypto to a bank deposit. The general process guide remains how to buy property in Mexico with crypto.

Frequently asked questions

Does the seller of the house receive bitcoin?

No. They receive a bank deposit in their local currency. The seller path is in the seller guide, not here.

Is the bitcoin amount locked for the whole closing?

Not by default. The quote has a validity window. Outside that window you confirm again. Do not assume a “fixed rate” unless your quote says so.

If you already have a property in mind, start at Buy with crypto. Do not send bitcoin until you have written instructions.
